I am trying to subscribe to an authenticated Atom feed in Lotus Notes 8.5.1. The feed uses http basic auth. When I click the Subscribe button in the sidebar (the + sign) I get prompted for the feed url which I provide and then click Go. Then I see an 'Authenticated Required" dialog asking me for User name and Password which I provide and click OK. Then I see an error that the server answered 401. If I create an account using File->Preferences->Accounts for the site hosting the feed and then try to Subscribe to the feed I get farther in that I can see it download the feed (and it appears as a file in the tmp directory in the Lotus Notes workspace) but then the OK button to complete adding the feed is not enabled. My question is, is there a recipe for adding authenticated atom feeds in Notes?
