I tried your code and it works

The code you have works fine on my server. When you say it does not get set what do you mean exactly.

By default the expiration date is set to 2 years from now. So even if you do not set the expiration and remove all that code it should still set the expiration time to 2 years from the moment the code is running.
You could test that and see if that at least works, also take a look at my other response as I have a feeling the problem might be with adminp.
