I pretty much just add apps with whatever the default values for properties are. I've verified that this specific app does not have the Optimize doc table map checked.
I've verified that the problem comes if I run the agent.
The app is used to track tool calibration status and calibration events. Tools are defined by a document and specific calibration events are responses; one per event.
The LS agent looks at a view of calibration events that are due, checks to see if any given event is past due, and if it is, it finds the parent. sets the status to 'Expired', then updates all response docs to also be expired.
If I run the agent and immediately try and use the app to complete a calibration event, I run into the problem where the parent isn't found and a child doc gets updated instead.
It appears that I can exit the db/reopen and that almost always solves the problem OR I can do the <ctrl><f9> thing.
End users will never see this so I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
It's highly unlikely we'll migrate past 8.5.3...but then again I never thought we'd leave 6.5...
Thanks for the response. These weird kinds of events typically generate no hits and I am very happy you took the time to make a suggestion.
