I am a Notes developer. I do work for dozens of different clients and have direct access to many client systems. To make it easier to switch from one to the other, I use locations to enable me to switch from one id to another quickly/easily (instead of File - security - switch id). I run a Notes server locally, and have done so with no issues since R5.x. At times I had multiple Notes client versions installed (eg: 6.x and 7.x).

Well...I upgraded to 8.5.1 about 4 months ago, and then to 8.5.2 about a month ago. It has been a living hell.

1) When I first start Notes, the smart icons work. If I switch to a different location/id, they no longer work.... unless I restart the client.

2) I can no longer access DESIGNER help in designer by selecting Help - Help Contents. I'm not sure what help reference I'm getting, but it's not designer help. Have to open manually from the workspace. (Oh yeah, I thought I'd be clever and add a custom smarticon to access Designer help but...see point 1)

3) If I close my laptop and it goes to sleep, when I open it back up, sometimes my keyboard no longer works. If I close Notes (using mouse), kybrd starts working again. I have to hibernate now instead.

4) At the end of a day, I leave my laptop on and open, screen saver comes on. Next morning, I open Notes and switch to a different location (and id) and I get an error $TableUpdate - field missing.....or something like that. Have to restart Notes to clear.

5) If I switch ids x number of times, when I switch back to my main id, replication no longer works, have to restart Notes. Sometimes when I exit, notes2.exe and nlnotes.exe processes won't close, I have to kill manually.

6) OMG....it is so slow sometimes, so I check task manager. Only thing consuming CPU/Disk is Notes....yet other times it's quick. ???

OK, I like the working sets in Designer, they have been quite useful. Otherwise, I'm really missing 7.x.
