On the Domino server, HTTP and Traveler communicate with each other using an internal socket. (ports 50125 and 50126). It sounds like something in that communication is not working properly. Previous problems with this have been that there are multiple network cards in the machine and they are not communicating over the correct one (or same one). If you turn the FINEST level logging on in NTSServletLogging.properties for HTTP and on the server document for Traveler (on the Lotus Traveler tab), you should look for the ConnectionListener trace statements and see if you can figure out what is going on.
If you want IBM to look at the logs, you'll need to open a PMR.
