I have a user who connects to a Lotus Notes Traveler Version: 8.5.3.200 Build 201211281055 server with his iPhone6 (OS version: Apple-iPhone7C2/1206.70)
The user in question used to have "Synchronise Contacts" enabled in the replication menu but later disabled it since there were duplicate contacts and he decided that he would use iCloud as his default contacts account. See http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21650850
Unfortunately, we found that the number of contacts on his Lotus Notes personal contacts more than doubled the following day. When we investigated, we found that many of these newly added contacts had only phone numbers and had been created on his phone. So the phone had pushed all his 'phone' contacts to Lotus, and he is getting duplicates again.
We have manually deleted the contacts that have been pushed to his Lotus Notes contacts from his phone. However, we want to know what could have caused this. As per the technote, the phone will push contacts to Notes only if the traveler account has been set as the default contact account, and this was not the case.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?
And what did you do to resolve it?
Kind regards.
