I certainly wouldn't qualify this as an "ad", as you did in your first response. Is it "marketing" then? Maybe it is, just as much as if someone were posting about a customer success story, a win for Notes/Domino against Outlook/Exchange or the like. I, for me, find that kind of marketing acceptable, as it provides me with information that helps me doing my job without annoying me.
