If you are directly updating IDs, you need to use the Certification -> Certify tool in the admin client. However, the easiest approach for expiring-but-still-valid certificates is to right-click users from the People & Groups tab of the admin client and use the Recertify tool. This updates the certificate in the NAB, and the user's client will automatically pull down the update the next time they log in.
