Chris posted some really good design concepts as well as helping establish a way of thinking about Notes UI design.

One caution: he uses something called 'successive disclosure' as a concept. This works but be sure to include some kind of 'why can't I do <x thing>' feature; if a user is filling stuff out and gets stuck, you need to provide some kind of big-old-in-your-face-HEY...YOU...HERE--->>>THIS THING...IT'S MISSING' feature.
