A calendar entry is really a notes document with a few specific fields that are set to indicate that the doc is a calendar entry. If you do a little digging you can find out what those fields are (or you can even look at the doc properties of your calendar entries). Another options is to send .ics attachments that the user can accept, but it sounds like you want something automated (or clickable) in her mail database.
