Subject: SSL for intranet - different cert needed?
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Administration
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Always

What I want to do is turn SSL on for meetings.acme.com when accessed from the outside world (there's a wildcard cert for acme.com) but if I do, then when people go to access it internally, they get an SSL error message.

Someone told me recently that the reason is that internal domains (on a 10.0.0 range), such as meetings.acme.com (with the internal DNS set up on microsoft server), require different SSL certificates from meetings.acme.com when accessed from the outside world. I'd never heard this and am having difficulty groking this; anyone able to explain?
