Write it as MIME/HTML.

Essentially, it's HTML. Works great.

Unfortunately you're subject to the limitations of HTML.

OTOH you can get a rockin' head start by saving the Word document as HTML.

The whitespace rules for HTML are not particularly fun.

But you'll get something of relatively high fidelity to share with your recipients.
