LSX is rather old ...

but might still be working. I have done some samples back in 2011, but never used it in production.
The only advantave to use LSX over the 'pure' cAPI is that you have your methods in the LS context menue.

I prefer to write a DLL that wraps my methods that I would like to share in different applications.

Writing an DLL and expose its members to LS is rather simple; the hard stuff is writing the nethods. As you are using cAPI, you are playing with napalm and razorblades.
