I'm not saying this'll be what you want, but it'll get you started:

Instead of

Write #fileNum, blocked

try

Write #fileNum, Replace(blocked, |"|, ||)

It will do what you requested. I don't know if there're cases when you won't want what you requested, but there ya go.
