We are using Bacula internally. It is free (more precisely, it is released under a mixture of GPL, LGPL and Public Domain), it is very powerful, and it is well documented.
We are running the Director and Storage daemons of Bacula on an Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Linux box. The File daemons are running on various Windows and Linux boxes, including some that are also hosting Domino servers.
Once you have set it up properly, Bacula is very stable and reliable. Just a few days ago, we had to restore a number of Domino databases after one of our Domino boxes had crashed. The restore operation worked like a charm, no issues whatsoever.
Drawbacks:
Setting up Bacula can be quite tedious, if you are not familiar with its concepts.
It does not come with a fancy GUI. There is a Webmin module for Bacula, but that has to be used with care. Ever since it screwed up some of our configuration files, we started using a simple text editor to manipulate Bacula conf files. (Note that we are still using the Webmin module for monitoring and triggering backup/restore operations.)
Initializing new tapes involves a few manual steps. If you are pampered by commercial backup software (drop in the blank tape and have the software do everything for you...), you may find that a bit irritating.
