Subject: Periodic Rollover of Mail Journal Database
Feedback Type: Question

Release: 8.5.1
Reproducible: Not applicable

Hi,

I want to start managing my Mail Journal database by using the Periodic Rollover feature, so that a new Journal database is created every 7 days. However we already have a Journal database that has been in use for a lot longer than that.

I was just wondering if anyone knows whether when I enable the periodic rollover it will realise on the first evening that the existing Journal database is already older than the period I specify and therefore rename it and create a new database, or does it only start 'counting' the days if the Journal database is created after the management have been enabled?

It's not a massive issue either way I guess, but I'd just like to know for my own peace of mind before I go ahead and enable it...

Thanks in advance for any help.
