These are the instructions for installing Lotus Notes R6 on Citrix Metaframe

1. Login in to the Citrix server with administrative privileges.
2. Create a folder on the C: drive called R6ClntTmpl. (This folder will be used as your client template for any new R6 users and will need to be copied to each users Home folder. The process of upgrading an existing R5 user to R6 is different)
3. Click on Start
4. Click on Settings
5. Click on Control Panel
6. Double Click on Add and Remove Programs
7. Click on Add New Programs
8. Browse to the R6 install file
9. Begin the install
10. Click Next to continue on the first Notes install screen.
11. Click Next to continue
12. Select “I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next
13. Enter the Company name in the User name and Organization fields. Do not enter a user’s name in either field, as all users will see this information.
14. Select install this application “Only for me (Single User Install)” and click Next.
15. Change the install Data files to C:\ R6ClntTmpl\Lotus\Notes\Data
16. On the Feature Install window deselect Modem Files, Client Single Logon Feature, and Domino Enterprise Connection Services. Click Next.
17. Click Install.
18. Click Finish.
19. Copy the C:\%systemroot%\notes.ini file to the C:\ R6ClntTmpl\Lotus\Notes\Data directory
20. Edit the notes.ini file. The entries your ini file may vary. The important one to modify is the Directory entry. These are the exact entries in my notes.ini file:
[Notes]
KitType=
InstallType=
FaultRecovery_Build=Build V60_09252002
DSTLAW=4,1,1,10,-1,1
Directory=H:\lotus\notes\data
UPDATE_TIMER=02/13/2003 02:13:19 PM
SUDIALOG_ON=0
21. I noticed the Lotus Notes desktop shortcut which was created during the R6 install is faulty. The target field is grayed out.
22. Create a new shortcut by browsing to the C:\Program Files\lotus\notes directory. Create a shortcut to the notes.exe
23. Paste the shortcut in the All Users desktop directory.
24. Modify the Shortcut properties. You will need to map a network drive called H:\
25. The Target field should read as follows: “C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\notes.exe” =H:\Lotus\Notes\Data\notes.ini
26. The Start in field should read as follows H:\Lotus\Notes\Data.

I haven’t done too much testing but it seems to be working. Seems a bit slow in performance but that could be the Citrix box we have it running on.
