We are currently using Mailsweeper SMTP version 4.2.11 and find that it sits very comfortably with our Domino Infrastructure.

Addmitedly, we are still running R5 on our servers (being a pharmaceutical industry doesn't lend us to upgrade very quickly - too much validation and regulation these days)

We use Mailsweeper as the Internet facing SMTP server, to:-
1. Act as an SMTP Firewall for our Domino Servers.
2. Act as a 1st line of defence for Viruses
3.Content Filtering.

I'm not completely au fait with the Domino content scanning, and will be looking at it closer to when we plan to upgrade to R6.
