Two things:

1. My friends at OpenNTF.org would probably suggest this as a starting point.

2. My somewhat more labour intensive solution is this:
  • Create a database based on the statistics reporting template (make a separate one, don't just use statrep.nsf)
  • Create events in Monitoring Configuration like so:






  • You need event traps for

    "found in DNS blacklist at"
    "rejected for policy reasons"
    and the built in event "SMTP Server: <string> disconnected. <number> message[s] received"

That's really all there is to it. These events turn up in the view "3. Events" in your reporting database. I use a tabular text export of this database and command line utilities (scripted) to count up the various types of event.
