You don't need to seek out and abuse someone else's open relay or proxy for testing DNSRBL.

Actually, a couple of DNSRBL sites offer a test you can use painlessly. One, the Spamhaus blocklist, is documented here.

The other is offered by the open relay dabase, ORDB. This works like the sbl test above, and is documented here.
