I am getting ready to try the same thing so I was interested in your post.

My thought is that the OS must have a lock on the notes.exe file when the upgrade/install is taking place. Is there any provision to prevent the user from having Notes running, or are there any 'helper apps' like Notes Minder that might have a lock on the file??
