To me you are going to have to build this functionality independent to WebTrends. If you want to track users via cookies or something -- you can give the user a temporary cookie and as they click through each link have it launch a web agent which records their activity, but you would have to almost include a web agent launch on every web page.
I never heard of cookie tracking via a web analysis tool.
