I had the same problem when accessing the server from different areas of my network... turns out it was how we defined the dns zones around the different sites at our locations... also how Notes uses the domain zone to authenticate using token-based authentication... You didn't mention how you authenticated (token or basic challenge/response)
I had an issue where on one network segment, the mail sevrer showed up as server.zone1.com, but in the SSO document, the domain was listed as zone2.com.
We change the DNS and it started to work fine... but we had the same issue... logon, and just keep getting prompted by the login again and again...
