Despite Lotus's claims that Version 6 would support the VCF-Standard, I still find it impossible to receive VCF-Files from Outlook 98/Outlook 2000 users. The symptoms are as described below.
I.
trying to receive a VCF-File or MSG-File
When trying to receive one or more contacts from an outlook user (not connected to an exchange server),
I receive either
a) no attachment at all, but a rather big mail (outlook user uses the option E-Mail-Format "Plain-Text" ("Nur-Text" in German), with the short notice the user wrote, but no attachment
b) a winmail.dat-attachment (outlook user uses the option E-Mail-Format "html-format"), which is also not useful, as this type of attachment is not recognized by Notes
II.
trying to receive a PDF-File
a) text-only-format:
Mail in Inbox is very big, no attachment
b) HTML-Format
small comment, correct attachment
Lotus-Configuration:
Server: 6.0 upgraded from 5.0.10
Client: 6.0 upgraded from 5.0.11
Template: inotes60 upgraded from inotes5
Can anyone help, as the standard MS-advice (turn on plain-text-format) doesn't work?
I have a few old mails containing VCF-attachments, which I can open without any problem. I just can't seem to receive them anymore since
