IBM supports Microsoft dominance ~Richard Pregerokonyings 11.Oct.02 03:17 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.0Linux - RedHat
Yes.
We are a small company, about 50 PCs, running Windows 98, Mozilla, StarOffice 6 and Lotus Notes 5. Basically we do not need anything else (except for web designer, he needs Photoshop, etc.)
The ONLY reason we are not using LINUX stations everywhere is there is NO Lotus Notes client for Linux.
From this perspective IBM is the best Microsoft promoter.
It is just a question of how IBM and Microsoft "agreed" to divide the world. IBM wants server side, Microsoft client side. If Microsoft wants everything (historic MS slogan was something like "Make it all makes sence"), than IBM might want to go after client side, so in this case it will be effective to invest into Linux client. Otherwise, it makes no sence for IBM to invest into LINUX client, as everybody must still pay for Notes licences and use it on Windows...
