Why so argumentative? I don't dispute the points you make (much), and you didn't really address the points I was making in my post. I'm not going to get into that hoary ole PC vs Macs debate, (1) cos it's tedious (2) each to their own and (3) I use both anyhow. But.
I don't have a design house. I'm a coder. I sure as hell use a Mac. The only reason I'd buy a PC for use at home is to run Domino Designer.
The "niche market" image of arty types using the Mac is old. As is the "too damn expensive" argument. Versus a knock off PC (eg that Gateway thing that was placed directly against the new iMac), the Mac solution is a bargain feature-for-feature.
But of course, your office full of bean-counters will have no use for Macs, and as a solution they will be more expensive than the multitudes of cheapo Wintel boxes out there.
Of course, all of the usual Mac vs PC arguments assume that Apple are trying to go head to head with Wintel market, which isn't necessarily the case. The two can co-exist!
