I find Domino/Notes ideal for SMB ~Vera Quethipipuljip 1.Oct.02 02:48 PM a Web browser General All ReleasesAll Platforms
I have SMB companies with one Domino server and 25 Notes clients. With that they can :
- have workflows
- C&S
- Mail in a much more secure way than with Outlook
- Have a website that anyone in the company can update.
- Have all there information offline on their laptops
- Work at home at a descent speed
- Have Domino run on license free Linux
- Use the applications on their macs
- Have branch office working on the same db's
- All this with an excellent securety.
Beside the development of applications, all these things are installed and working in a snap. You may allways tell me how i can implement this with other products, and for less money.
The cost is only a fraction of what they spent on MS-Office each year.
As Lotus/IBM had made it clear that the Domini/Notes structure will be continued for the long term (as far as 'long term' still exists in IT-world), these companies will be able to continue/expand/improve these applications fo quite some time.
Don't talk if we have to choose now between J2EE or .NET, or otherwise we won't be able to do anything tomorrow. Don' talk if Domino wouldn't exist anymore in a year or two.
