I agree with all your points and welcome this type of discussion. Domino is most valuable to me as a collaboration tool. The sales/marketing teams can simply replicate certain databases to their laptops. They can make changes while off-line and when they replicate again they've changed content on the web sites, or kicked off a workflow process. Empowering my end-users while off-line is very important. I know that sounds trivial to everyone here but it's very powerful.
All Internet software tools are still in diapers. After all, the Internet as we recognize it today is only about 6 years old. These tools will get better with time. I just hope they don't become too expensive.
