Don't get me wrong, I'm not a MS-basher, and i can see what you're saying. But still, I dont think it's not really 'just' to compare Notes and .NET.
I'm not willing to open a technical discussion, but for me (developing for rahter small companies), Notes is the cheapest and easiest way to provide the companies with workflow, intranet, extranet, mail, homeworking, offline working is a very secure way. Probably you and i have different needs.
On these things i 100% agree with you :
- MS knows how to market and how to design
- Lotus/IBM can learn much on that
And IBM may be not a charity, but if there's one company that know how to beat the last dime out of my pockets, it's MS. Jee, I'm still recovering of the Office XP-bill... And worst of all : I don't really need it, only because everyone else is sending me XP-documents... but OK, that's another story...
