Product Area: Server Technical Area: Server Platform: AS/400

SPR# TACN4QHPZR - Fixed a problem where the message "Insufficient memory for attempted security operation" was displayed on the Domino console which sometime would lead to a server crash.
Technote Number: 1087236

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino for AS/400 Release 5.0.5 and 5.0.6a with a QMU.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.6a.01 QMR fix list
(available at http://www.notes.net):

Server - AS/400

SPR# TACN4QHPZR - Fixed a problem where the message "Insufficient memory for
attempted security operation" was displayed on the Domino console which
sometime would lead to a server crash.

If you experience any of the above messages on releases 5.0.3 and 5.0.4,
upgrade to 5.0.5 and then apply the QMU 5.0.5.01 as well. If you are on
release 5.0.6a, download and apply QMU 5.0.6a.01. The QMU can be downloaded at
http://www.ibm.com/as400/domino/support/

NOTE: SPR #AHOE4LCRDR has been addressed in Domino 6.0.

To work around the issue temporarily (length of relief depends on workload,
database size, and usage), open the database locally, or replicate it locally,
and then replicate it back to the server.Supporting Information:

The following additional issues have been reported after upgrading to R5.0.3,
5.0.4x, 5.0.5, or 5.0.6a:

1. After the server has been running for approximately 24 hours, the users
begins seeing the following error at the client:

"Too many concurrent formula evaluations; please retry."

This error occurs on any and all databases. You could be switching between
folders, trying to replicate, or trying to open a database. Sometimes, if you
retry, the operation will complete successfully, but other times you will get
this message repeatedly until the server is restarted.

2. The following message is logged in the console at the same time the
above-cited "Too many concurrent formula evaluations..." error is received at
the client:

"CN=First Last/O=Org failed to authenticate: Insufficient memory for
attempted security operation."

The client is completely unaware of this message. Although the error is
received at the same time as "Too many concurrent formula evaluations", there
is not a direct one-to-one relationship.

The "Invalid formula structure" error described in the Problem section above
may not be directly related to these two errors, but it seems to start just
before or at the same time as they do.

To work around the "Too many concurrent formula evaluations..." error
temporarily, you can restart the server. However, this is a temporary
workaround. The length of relief from the error depends on workload, database
size, and usage, and you are not guaranteed to get the error on ALL databases
each time it occurs.
