SPR# JCHN5ATSQ3 - Fixed an issue where folders could be inadvertently marked corrupt and subsequently deleted. This problem was fixed in 6.0.3, 6.0.2 CF2, and 6.0.1 CF3.

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering; however, there
are currently no plans to address it in the R5 product series. It should be
noted that this issue has not been reproducible when upgrading from
Notes/Domino R4 or R5 to Notes/Domino 6.

In R5, this happens because FIXUP runs against the database and the $Inbox
folder is considered corrupted. Administrators may see a consistency check
trigger against the database when a task like UPDALL is run, which removes the
folder element. Once the folder is removed, it can be replaced by refreshing
the design. However, documents that had been kept in the Inbox will no longer
be present in the folder.

In R5, the FIXUP routine has been written to be more stringent than in R4. For
a small percentage of users, this means that corruption that had been ignored
in R4 is now removed by FIXUP in R5. In this specific instance, the folder
corruption is directly related to the older On Disk Structure (ODS) of the
database (ODS 20), and can be fixed by upgrading to ODS 41 before running
FIXUP. To upgrade the ODS, use the COMPACT task.

Supporting Information:

Once a folder is removed from a database, there is no way to retrieve the list
of documents that had previously been in the folder. A backup of the file may
be helpful in collecting this information.
