Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and was addressed in
Domino 5.0.4 Designer.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.4 QMR fix list:
Editor - Tables
+SPR# JSTG4GLKUQ - Domino Designer no longer crashes when merging cells by
dragging mouse right to left. This was a regression from R4.6.x. [5.0.4]
A workaround is to drag from left to right, not right to left when selecting
