SPR# DPAT4HWKEX - Error "get ClassNotFoundException for lotus.notes.apps.appletxxx" no longer received after loading a web page which contains any or all of the Domino applets. This problem occurs when using IE5 on the Macintosh with MRJ (Macintosh Runtime for Java) 2.1.

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino 5.0.6.

Applet Component - Outline applet
SPR# DPAT4HWKEX - Error "get ClassNotFoundException for
lotus.notes.apps.appletxxx" no longer received after loading a web page which
contains any or all of the Domino applets. This problem occurs when using IE5
on the Macintosh with MRJ (Macintosh Runtime for Java) 2.1.
As a workaround for versions prior to 5.0.6, create alternative pages that do
not use Java Applets for Macintosh users.Supporting Information:
For Domino 5.x, all of the applets were disabled on the Macintosh when any
version of Microsoft Internet Explorer was detected. This was done because of
a JVM limitation. All of the applets, except for the View Applet, revert to
HTML rendering if Microsoft Internet Explorer was the browser. The view applet
generates an error. Netscape is currently the only supported browser for the
applets on the MAC.
The following excerpt from the Domino/Notes 5.0.3 Release Notes is incorrect:
Minimum browser support for Domino Java Applets
The following is the minimum Web browser supported, by platform, as tested with
the 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 Domino Java Applets.

Macintosh PowerPC 8.5.1 4 Netscape 4.5x Netscape 4.5x Browsers do not support this applet
so HTML is used as a fall back. Internet Explorer reports errors;
