Problem:
This is a regression issue that was introduced in Notes 6.5.4. This issue was
reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# BHIR6GENND and was fixed in the
Notes/Lotus Domino® 6.5.6 MR and 7.0.2 releases.

SPR# BHIR6GENND - With this fix, Notes will not try to relock the document if
it is already locked by the same user. This regression was introduced in 6.5.4.

Supporting information
In Notes releases 6.5.4 and 7.0, a fix was introduced to provide document
locking in cases where a document was automatically placed into Edit mode when
an attachment was edited. The fix resulted in the proper locking of these
documents but the steps to unlock the documents did not work as expected and
resulted in the regression discussed above. More >
