Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.3 QMR fix list:
Client
SPR# BHAM46XMWE - Fix a problem with hidden fields being unhidden when they are
placed before a layout region or tables. The workaround of adding a paragraph
between the table or layout region and the field when there were hidden fields
is no longer necessary. [5.0.3]
As a workaround for versions prior to 5.0.3, you can add a carriage return
directly after the field on the subform and then the field will be hidden in
Notes 5.x clients; however, it creates an additional blank line on the Notes
document between the static text and the table. The additional blank line on
the form does not occur in 4.6x.Supporting Information:
These steps reproduce this issue:
1. In Domino Designer 5.0, create a form with static text.
2. Then create a subform with a field with the "Hide from R46 or Later" option
3. Add a table immediately below the field.
3. Insert the subform in the form immediately below the static text.
4. In a Notes 5.0 client, create a new Notes document and notice that the field
in the subform is not hidden.
5. Add a carriage return directly after the field in the subform's design.
6. Create a Notes document; the field is now hidden, but there is a blank line
between the static text and the table.
