SPR# MXDG5YCK7F - Unicode was added to support multilingual filenames in the Upload Control. Prior to this fix, the error message "Item not found exception...." was displayed when trying to download an attachment with a Japanese filename.

Problem:
For Japanese characters this issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR#
MXDG5YCK7F, and was fixed in Domino 6.5.4 and 7.0 releases.

For Chinese characters this issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR#
FMWI6MBM6M, and was fixed in Domino 7.0.2 and Domino 6.5.6.

Attachments
SPR# FMWI6MBM6M - Fixed a problem that an attachment could not be downloaded if
it contained a backslash in its name."

Workaround:
Lotus NotesĀ® Client is able to download the attachments without error, which
can be used as a workaround if a Notes client is available.


Steps to reproduce issue:

1. Install Domino 6.5 for English.
2. Add the Chinese Language Pack.
3. Add the Japanese Language Pack.
4. Register a user using iNotes6.ntf as mail template, and selecting the
preferred Language as Japanese.
5. Set up a fresh workstation with Windows 2000 for Japanese.
6. Make sure you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 6 Japanese.
7. Log into DWA, create a new mail message, attach a file with a Japanese file
name, and send the mail to yourself.
8. Go to the Inbox, open the mail message, and try to save the attachment.
The error message occurs while saving the attachment.


Note: This is not the same issue as the issue described in the technote,
"Unable to download attachments with Double-byte Character File Names from
Domino Web Access" (#1152949).
