There are two kinds of dictionaries available for Lotus Notes users -- traditional .dic dictionaries and Java XTAF dictionaries.
In an English Lotus Notes installation, English and Canadian French traditional and XTAF dictionaries are installed. The English language Notes install kit installs the following dictionaries:
- Traditional .dic : en-US, en-GB, fr-CA
- XTAF dictionaries : en-US, en-GB, en-AU, fr-CA
Note Native Language (NL) kits can be used when installing a non-Eng version of Notes. Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packs can be used when installing a non-Eng version of Notes on a Windows platform. A MUI pack install requires that the English version of Notes has already been installed.
For traditional dictionaries for both NL kits and MUI packs, appropriate language dictionaries are installed except for the English and Canadian French dictionaries.
For XTAF dictionaries, the whole language group dictionaries are installed, except for English and Canadian French dictionaries. For example, for any language in the following groups, the whole group languages dictionaries are installed:
- nl1 ="de,es,fr,it,ja,ko,pt_BR,zh,zh_TW,ca"
- nl2 ="ar,cs,da,el,fi,hu,iw,nl,no,pl,pt,ru,sv,tr" Note: For nl2, XTAF does not support hu, iw, and tr (Hungarian, Hebrew, and Turkish) on Mac OS X.
- nl3="sk,sl,th,uk,ro"
