What's happening on the screen
Welcome to Installing Lotus Notes Traveler on an Apple device.
iPad home screen
Lotus Notes Traveler provides support for the Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad family of devices.
iPad home screen
Although there is no client software to install, you still must create an Apple account on your device for mail, calendar, and contacts before you can connect to the Lotus Notes Traveler server.
iPad home screen
You can create this account automatically by installing an Apple profile. This method is recommended because the Apple profile can automatically supply default information such as your logon name and mail address.
iPad home screen
Before you begin, make sure your Apple device is connected to a WiFi or 3G network.
Focus on WiFi icon
Next, open the Safari browser on your device, and go to the Lotus Notes Traveler user home page URL provided to you by your system administrator.
Open the Safari browser, and select the Lotus Notes Traveler bookmark. The Lotus Notes Traveler Home page displays.
The user status section at the top of the home page shows your status as well as the status of your device.
Highlight the status section
Select Configure your Apple iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad to begin configuration.
Select Configure your Apple iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.
Verify that the logon name and mail address is correct. The logon name is the user name you use to log in to the Lotus Notes Traveler user home page, while the mail address is your Internet mail address.
Focus on logon name, and mail address.
Select Generate to produce a customized profile for your device.

Then select Install to begin the installation.
Select Generate to create the profile.
Select Install.
When prompted about the authenticity of the profile, select Install Now to continue.
Select Install Now.
If you have enabled a security passcode for your device, enter it next.
There is no security passcode for this demonstration.
When prompted for your Exchange account password, type the password you use to log in to the Lotus Notes Traveler user home page and select Next.
Enter the Exchange account password.
Select Done to complete the installation.
Select Done.
The new Exchange ActiveSync account is created in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section of your Apple device's Settings application.
iPad homepage. Selecting Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Highlight the profile for the Lotus Notes Traveler account.
Allow some time to pass for the initial synchronization with the server to complete before opening your mail's Inbox. Opening the mailbox too soon can prolong the initial synchronization.
iPad homepage.
Once synchronization is complete, mail, calendars, and contacts will begin to appear in the appropriate applications on your device.

Note that Lotus Notes Traveler does not install a client on your Apple device. Instead, the built-in mail, calendar, and contacts apps are synchronized with your Notes mail file.
iPad homepage.
Synchronized mail, for example, appears in your device's Mail application. Opening it reveals a new Inbox labeled with the mail address associated with your Lotus Notes account.

You can send new messages, as well as reply to or forward messages you receive.
Open Mail application. Open Inbox and select a message to view.

Reply to an existing message
When forwarding a message containing an attachment, you can select whether or not you want to include the attachment in the forwarded message.
Forward a message

Don't include the attachment.
When composing a new mail message, you can select recipients' names from your contacts list.
Create new mail message and select recipients' names from Contacts list.
Meetings and appointments from your Lotus Notes Calendar are also automatically added to your Apple device.

Open your Calendar application to view them. From here, you can also respond to new meeting invitations, just as you would from Lotus Notes.

iPad homepage. Opening Calendar application.
We hope you enjoy the power and convenience of Lotus Notes Traveler on your Apple device.
